本州から知られており、中国からも記録されている。温帯域のアズマネザサやメダケなどのササ類の葉鞘下に生息し、カイガラムシ類を捕食する。亜熱帯域から温帯域にかけて分布する。ササクダアザミウマによく似るが、前腿節や有翅胸節が褐色であることで区別できる。

This species is known from Honshu and has also been recorded in China. It inhabits the leaf sheaths of bamboo shoots, including Pleioblastus chino and P. simonii, in temperate regions and preys on scale insects. It resembles P. sasacola, which is distributed from subtropical to temperate regions, but can be distinguished by its brown forefemur and pterothorax.
